Children's Carnival
The first Carnival event of the season is a day of fun activities and a short afternoon parade around the town dedicated to our younger participants.
Prizes are awarded in several categories for costumes and concepts, and the parade is led by the Sandown Carnival Queens.

Main Carnival
The day after the Children's Carnival, this early evening event is attended by many thousands of visitors lining the streets of Sandown for a fabulous parade consisting of a mix of vehicle-based and pedestrian entries.
An absolute riot of colour and pumping music, you'll be amazed at the quality of the entries for this very popular event featuring floats from all over the island!

Illuminated Carnival
As the nights begin to draw in, this evening event features dozens of brightly-lit floats and hundreds of costumes and is the perfect end to the summer season.
Taking place at the end of August, Sandown Illuminated Carnival really shouldn't be missed! Fun for all ages.

November 5th Lanterns, Parade and Fireworks
A fantastic celebration made up of dozens of brightly-lit floats and hundreds of pedestrian entries carrying lanterns through the streets of Sandown, culminating with a huge beach-side firework display from Sandown Pier!
Definitely not to be missed this event grows in size each year and now includes lots of entertainment down on the Esplanade prior to the parade's arrival.

Christmas Eve Funday
A family favourite in Sandown for many year, the Christmas Eve Funday has been organised by Sandown Carnival Committee since 2009.
We close the High Street for the whole day and pack it full of fun activities and last-minute Christmas shopping bargains. Live bands, disco and street entertainers are on hand and Father Christmas sets up a temporary grotto for the day. Great fun for all ages!

As well as all these fantastic events, Sandown Carnival organises a number of other activities throughout the year. Previous examples have included Quiz Nights, Car Treasure Hunts, Race Nights, BBQs and Carnival / Circus workshops.
