Sandown Carnival is staffed entirely by volunteers who plan, organise and run the various events throughout the year. This year we're short on street marshalls - folks who can help during the processions with crowd control ensuring a safe passage for our floats and pedestrian entries.
Marshalls are also key for providing information and guidance to carnival-goers and being on-hand to step in and help deal with any minor incidents until qualified assistance arrives.
No formal training or experience is needed, although if you have any background or qualifications in crowd control, security or first aid we'd obviously like to hear about this!
You'll need to be reasonably fit - able to stand and walk around for 2-3 hours at a time both on hot summers days as well as cold autumn evenings.
If you think you can help in any way, please Contact Us - we'd be delighted to hear from you!
