This event has been CANCELLED
Due to an objection received on 23rd December in respect of planned street trading at the fun day event, the carnival committee could not continue to run the event without first taking legal advice. The late arrival of the objection meant that this advice could not be taken in time.
We have therefore taken the difficult decision to cancel our plans for the day. We understand that the market will continue to operate at the bottom of the high street, and that cash draw tickets will still be available from a number of retailers. However we have had to cancel the majority of our planned entertainment, sideshow activities, trader and charity stalls.

On behalf of the thousands of expectant visitors who will no doubt be disappointed, the charities who will lose much-needed revenue, the dozens of volunteers who have been working very hard behind the scenes for months planning this year's event, and all of the high street shopkeepers who, having struggled through a difficult year, are now likely to miss out on late Christmas trade, we would like to thank the individual(s) responsible for raising this objection and wish you a Merry Christmas.
