Summary
November 5th Celebrations went with a bang this year with fireworks sponsored by Sandown Pier and Sandown Town Council, with additional help from the Ocean Hotel, Seagrove Hotel, Marina Bay Hotel, Belvedere Hotel, Sands Hotel and Moreys Ltd.. A HUGE thank you to all the schools and local organisations who also took part. The procession was led by Sandown Carnival Queens and included many other fantastic displays from local groups, schools and organisations including over 200 paper lanterns. Mas Fusion carnival band provided a wonderful finale to the procession which was also attended by Newport Carnival, with performances from Shanklin cheerleaders, Ryde Extreme Performers fire eaters and Samba Bands to name but a few of the many participants. Our thanks to all who took part, watched or donated, and special thanks to the Lions Club and Rotary for their help during the event.
