The Selection Evening
The 2008 Sandown Carnival Queen selection evening was again a huge success thanks to over 60 young ladies from the age of 9 and above attending a nightclub atmosphere at Colonel Bogeys. 4 judges had to pick 6 queens to represent Sandown this year, and in addition 20 extra girls were chosen to become a dancing entourage to surround this year's float in the local carnivals. The judges comments on "how difficult it is each year to pick a handful of girls from so many who have the exact qualities we're looking for! We hope everyone had a good time at Colonel Bogeys".
Sandown Carnival Association would like to thank every girl who attended the evening and hope that they will attend 'Mas Fusion' to still enter the carnival in costumes found at the top of Sandown High Street - ask for Sharon or Jill

The Event Details
Venue: Colonel Bogeys Nightclub
- Wednesday 9th April 2008 (First week of Easter Holidays)
- Registration begins at 18:00
- Judging begins at 18:30
- Winners announced that evening
- Finishes at 22:00
- Disco, small buffet and bar open for soft drinks
- Parents welcome
Rules of Entry
- You must live in the PO36 postcode area
- You must be in Year 5 or above at school
- You must be able to attend ALL 3 carnivals during the summer
- You must have parents' permission to enter
What We Expect From You
- A happy personality
- Not afraid to be in front of a crowd
What To Expect
- You will be given two tickets - 1 for your entry number and 1 for a drink
- There will be a disco so you can get in the party mood
- You will be called to a seperate room to be judged
- There will be 5 friendly judges
- You will be asked some simple questions about yourself
- You can then join your friends and wait for the results!

Please remember: we have lots of girls enter the selection and the judges have the difficult task of picking just a few. If you are not picked please don't be upset, just enjoy the rest of the evening and try again next year!
