Our Safety Advice document has been updated for the 2010 Carnival Season.

All participants in Sandown Carnival are required to sign to confirm that they comply with our Safety Advice Guide.



This year's Isle of Wight Carnival Queen of Queens titles have been granted!

This year's Carnival Queens have been selected! For more details, CLICK HERE. Well done to all of our six new queens, and a great big thanks to everyone that took part!



The dates for our 2010 events are confirmed as:

  • Children's Carnival - 27th July
  • Main Carnival - 28th July
  • Illuminated Carnival - 25th August
... plus of course our 5th November and Christmas Eve events!



Following a successful first year, we're now inviting funding applications from groups for their 2010 Carnival projects. You can pick up an application form HERE.

Our 2009 grants were awarded to the following successful applicants:

  • The Wight Strollers whose theme was Young At Heart. You might remember this group of 30+ for their amazing Flying Fockers routine in 2008!
  • Gatten & Lake Primary School based last year's entry on the film Happy Feet and it's underlying environmental messages
  • Sandown Youth & Community Centre whose Space Disco theme celebrated the club's silver anniversary
  • Brading Community Group's Space Race theme commemorated the 40th anniversary of the lunar landing and the 400th anniversary of Galileo's use of the telescope
  • The Baxter Massive worked to the theme of Fantasia with costumes influenced by the popular film.
