Sandown Carnival Participation Fund
Applications for 2026 are now open!
Each year, Sandown Carnival sets aside part of the donations you give us to help as many as possible take part in our events. We call this the Sandown Carnival Participation Fund (formerly the Sandown Carnival Development Fund).
Any not-for-profit group, school, community organisation or individual who will be participating in both of the Sandown Carnival processions this summer (Main & Illuminated*) may apply for grants towards the costs of materials, artists, training, research and development, venue hire, rental costs, instruments and props etc. The aim is to encourage new entrants for our carnival parades and other events, making them bigger and better each time.
Some of the most popular entries in recent years may not have happened without our direct support.
You may apply for a grant of up to £200. Applications are assessed by a panel using the criteria set out in the application pack. Whilst priority is given to entries from the PO36 postcode area, all are welcome to apply.
To apply, download the form below and complete it. This can be emailed back (preferred), or dropped into our Fundraising Outlet. See the pack for full details. Successful applicants will be notified soon after the closing date. A small number of printed application forms are available from our Fundraising Outlet.

*There is no children’s carnival procession this year
Applications MUST be returned by 4pm on Friday 29th May 2026. Late applications unfortunately cannot be assessed.
